The 1966 Chevrolet Nova, a compact car with a new, customer approved design, saw sales soar to over 163,000 units. The Super Sport, a performance oriented trim, further boosted sales, with over 16,000 buyers opting for the V8 engine.

However, the six cylinder engine remained a popular choice, with around 10,000 customers selecting it. The Nova offered a range of engines, from a 90 horsepower four cylinder to a powerful 350 horsepower V8.

The Super Sport, initially not offered, quickly became a highly sought after package for Nova enthusiasts. Many customers, eager to enhance their driving experience, customized their Novas with various performance modifications.

These modifications often included more powerful engines, upgraded suspension systems, and sportier exterior styling. The Nova Super Sport, with its combination of stylish design and performance capabilities, became a popular choice for both street driving and track racing.

While this Nova might initially impress with its Super Sport-like features, the reality is that it’s a carefully crafted clone. Despite not being born with the coveted SS package, this Nova hides a few secrets.

The car is powered by a newer 350ci engine that runs smoothly, making it road-ready. The odometer, showing approximately 17K miles, raises questions about its true mileage history. The owner admits uncertainty but assures minimal usage by both them and the previous owner.

The car’s appearance is deceiving due to a recent coat of paint and a refreshed interior. While it might not appeal to those seeking an all original Nova, its potential as a pro touring project or a show car is undeniable.

The biggest drawback lies in the asking price of $34,000. However, the owner is open to negotiations, making it possible for a potential buyer to acquire this Nova SS wannabe at a more reasonable price.

Located in Bellingham, Washington, this Nova is ready for a new owner who appreciates its unique blend of classic styling and modern performance. With its potential for customization and its road ready condition, it offers a compelling opportunity for enthusiasts seeking a distinctive and versatile vehicle.
