General Motors has announced that the Cadillac Vistiq, the brand’s fifth electric vehicle, will be manufactured at the Spring Hill Manufacturing plant in Tennessee. This facility already produces the Lyriq electric crossover, and the two models will share the automaker’s BEV3 electric vehicle platform.

The Vistiq, a three row luxury SUV with up to seven seats, is expected to enter production early next year and be available for order in early 2025. Positioned between the full size Escalade IQ and the two row Lyriq, the Vistiq joins the compact Optiq and the ultra luxury Celestiq in Cadillac’s electric vehicle lineup.

While the Escalade IQ is based on the BT1 platform, the other four Cadillac electric vehicles, including the Vistiq and Lyriq, utilize the BEV3 architecture.

Given Lyriq’s strong sales of 20,318 units in the first nine months of 2024, Vistiq is also expected to perform well in the U.S. market. Cadillac has highlighted that it is the only luxury brand to sell over 20,000 electric vehicles in the first three quarters of 2024 with a single model, the Lyriq.

Revealed in December 2023, the Vistiq is essentially the electric version of the internal combustion XT6, which is also manufactured at the Spring Hill plant along with the mechanically similar XT5. The Vistiq is expected to offer a comparable level of luxury, comfort, and performance as the XT6, but with the added benefits of zero emissions and electric vehicle technology.

The Vistiq will likely feature a spacious interior with ample legroom for all passengers, as well as a variety of advanced features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, a premium audio system, and a suite of driver assistance technologies. The Vistiq’s electric powertrain will provide a long driving range and quick acceleration. The exact specifications of the Vistiq’s powertrain have not been released yet, but it is likely to be similar to the powertrain used in the Lyriq.

The Lyriq is equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor electric powertrain that produces 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The Lyriq has a range of up to 312 miles on a single charge. The Vistiq is expected to be priced competitively with other luxury electric SUVs on the market. The Lyriq starts at $62,995, so the Vistiq is likely to be priced in the $60,000 to $70,000 range.

The Vistiq will be a significant addition to Cadillac’s electric vehicle lineup and is expected to help the brand compete with other luxury electric SUV manufacturers such as Tesla, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. The Cadillac Vistiq, a much-anticipated electric SUV, has been shrouded in mystery since its announcement.

Despite its long-awaited debut, General Motors has been tight-lipped about the vehicle’s technical specifications and interior design. However, based on the BEV3 platform shared with the Lyriq, we can make some educated guesses about what to expect. The Vistiq is expected to be priced competitively with the Lyriq, which starts at $58,595.

Considering the XT6’s internal combustion equivalent starts at $44,295, Vistiq’s estimated price of around $63,495 seems reasonable. This pricing positions the Vistiq as a more affordable option compared to the Escalade IQ, which starts at $127,700. Inside, the Vistiq is likely to feature a similar interior layout to the Lyriq, including a large 33-inch curved LED display that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Unlike the front wheel drive biased XT6, the Vistiq will likely come standard with a rear mounted electric motor. A dual-motor setup is also expected to be available. The Lyriq’s rear wheel drive configuration offers impressive performance with 365 horsepower, 325 pound feet of torque, and an estimated range of 326 miles.

The dual motor version boosts power to 515 horsepower and torque to 450 pound feet, but the range may be slightly reduced due to the increased weight. While the Vistiq is unlikely to match the Lyriq’s exact range figures, it should still offer a competitive electric driving experience.
