Lotus Cars has recently revealed a refreshed Emira sports car for the 2025 model year. This mid-engine beauty, not to be confused with the electric Lotus Technologies division, now offers a more powerful AMG sourced turbocharged four cylinder engine in addition to a revised lineup.

Initially available as the First Edition, the Emira is now offered in Turbo, Turbo SE, and V6 specifications. The Turbo SE, with its 400 horsepower and 354 pound feet of torque, is the most potent Emira to date, surpassing the Turbo’s 360 horsepower and 317 pound feet.

While the V6 in the US market offers 400 horsepower and 310 pound feet of torque, it’s actually a supercharged Toyota engine, known as the 2GR-FE.

This 3.5 liter V6 made its Lotus debut in 2010 with the Evora S. The Emira, a successor to the Exige and Elise, boasts impressive performance figures. The V6-powered Emira can reach a top speed of 180 miles per hour and accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds.

The Turbo SE, exclusively paired with AMG’s SPEEDSHIFT 8G dual clutch transmission, offers slightly better acceleration. The V6, on the other hand, is available with both a six speed manual and a Toyota sourced Aisin torque converter automatic transmission.

The Lotus Emira Turbo SE, a high performance sports car, is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that delivers impressive acceleration and top speed without the need for electric assistance.

Despite its relatively small engine size, the Turbo SE can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 182 mph. This performance is comparable to that of much larger and more powerful sports cars, and it is a testament to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Turbo SE’s engine and drivetrain.

The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE, a plug in hybrid with a combined power output of 671 horsepower and 752 lb-ft of torque, is limited to a top speed of 155 mph. While the C 63 S E PERFORMANCE offers impressive acceleration and power, its top speed is somewhat constrained by its electric motor and battery pack.

The Lotus Emira Turbo SE comes standard with a Lotus Drivers Pack, which includes launch control, a sports suspension, and high-performance brakes. The Turbo SE also features 20-inch forged wheels, red brake calipers, black accents, and an Alcantara headliner. The Turbo SE is available in Zinc Grey and Vivid Red, with the latter being the standard color for the Turbo and V6 models.

The Turbo SE is offered as a First Edition model in the US for 2025, starting at $99,900. The V6 is no longer available as a First Edition, and its pricing has not been announced. The Lotus Emira Turbo SE is a compelling option for drivers seeking a high-performance sports car that is both powerful and efficient.
