Toyota Motor North America has announced a significant transformation of its local racing division. Beginning in 2025, the division will rebrand as Toyota Gazoo Racing North America, aligning with the global TGR moniker.
This shift is accompanied by the introduction of the GR Corolla Touring Car, a new racing program designed for track day enthusiasts and competitive racers alike. The GR Corolla TC, built upon the foundation of the popular GR Corolla hatchback, features a range of performance enhancements.
These include upgraded brakes, custom suspension components, and aerodynamic modifications. Under the hood, the car retains the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive system, managed by advanced electronics.
The GR Corolla TC will compete in the TC America series, showcasing Toyota’s commitment to motorsport and providing fans with an exciting new racing experience. Toyota has revealed its latest track-ready racecar, the GR Corolla TC, which is set to compete in the upcoming 2025 TC America series.
The GR Corolla TC is equipped with a bundle of safety features, including an FIA-approved roll cage, an OMP fiberglass seat with a six-point harness, and an OMP electronically activated fire extinguishing system.
Mike Norem, manager of Customer Racing at TGRNA, expressed his excitement about the project, stating that the GR Corolla was the perfect platform for the series. The 2025 season will see the TC America series combine the TCX and TC classes into a single entry, allowing for a wider variety of brands to compete at the highest level.
However, Toyota has yet to release the exact vehicle specifications, pricing, and motorsport programs for the GR Corolla TC. Despite this, the company has confirmed that the street model will continue to be available beyond the 2025 model year.
